New debit cards become effective November 15 (card arrives late October and early November)

To support these account transitions, if you have a current Sunshine Coast Financial debit card, you will receive a new debit card (currently known as a MEMBER CARD®1 debit card) for each membership you hold. If you are issued multiple cards, they will be mailed separately.

  • PIN numbers arrive separately by mail
You will also receive your corresponding personal identification number (PIN) for each card separately by mail in early November, along with activation instructions. If you do not receive your new card before the Transition Date, please contact us for assistance.
  • Your new debit card will be effective November 15, 2026
Continue to use your current debit card up until November 14th.

Are you planning to be away between late October and mid-November?

If an account signer for your business will be away between late October and mid-November, please plan ahead. Only an account signer can activate new debit cards and register for online banking. Delegates and other business users cannot complete these activities on an account signer's behalf. Review the required steps below and make any necessary arrangements before the transition. If you need assistance, please contact your Business Advisor.

Expanded branch and service access

After November 15, you'll be able to bank at any of Coast Capital’s 45 branches, in addition to our three local Sunshine Coast Financial branches and Member Service Centre. This expands your access to in-branch banking services across Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland and Kelowna.

When Prospera joins the shared banking platform in 2027, members will gain access to even more locations across British Columbia spanning from Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland and the Okanagan.

Your checklist of actions to take

To help ensure a smooth transition, we encourage you to review the following checklist which lists the most critical steps for you to complete.

Business banking transition guide

This guide contains detailed information about the changes ahead, important considerations, and useful resources to help make your transition as smooth as possible. Read the guide for complete details on our banking system transition.

What’s staying the same

  • Your local branch locations and hours
  • The friendly teams you know and trust
  • Your ability to use ATMs displaying THE EXCHANGE®6 or ACCULINK®7 logos free of charge
  • You can continue to use your Collabria Financial Services Inc. issued Sunshine Coast Financial business credit card as you do today
  • Our commitment to supporting our local community
  • Our focus on operating with transparency and purpose, prioritizing the financial well-being and success of our members and communities

We’ve got it covered

We're working hard behind the scenes to ensure your business’ transition is as simple as possible. We’re taking care of the following items, and no action is required by you:

You will not be able to use Online Banking between Saturday, November 14 (evening) to Sunday, November 15 (morning). However, you will still be able to use your current debit card for purchases and ATM withdrawals and deposits during this time. Following the completion of the transition on November 15, you will have access to the new Online Banking system and can begin using your new debit card.

With the exception of Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) tax payments and some pre-authorized debits, if you currently have direct deposits, recurring bill payments or third-party pre-authorized debits, these will be automatically transferred to your new account.   Exceptions

  • As scheduled CRA tax payments information will not automatically transfer to your new business account, please ensure you reschedule any CRA tax payments you may have following the transition on November 15, 2026. See section 8 in the business guidebook for more details.
  • If your business has set up pre-authorized debits to transfer money from its Sunshine Coast Financial account to a business account it holds at another financial institution, those transfers will not be carried over. You will need to take action to re-establish these transfers from your new business account following the Transition Date. However, if a third-party, such as a utility provider or lender is automatically withdrawing payments from your business account under a pre-authorized debit agreement, those withdrawals will continue without interruption following the Transition Date.

If you currently use Interac e-Transfers®, and are not currently banking with Coast Capital, we'll automatically transfer your recipient list, auto-deposit settings and existing e-Transfer profile information, so your business can continue sending and receiving money with no disruption.

Members who currently bank with both Sunshine Coast Financial and Coast Capital, and use Interac e-Transfers® on the current Coast Capital online banking platform are asked to update their existing Coast Capital Interac profile to incorporate their Sunshine Coast Financial recipient list and auto-deposits.

Your current cheques will continue to be honoured. Our new banking system will recognize your existing cheque information and automatically associate it with your new business account.
